Canvas By Canvas is a group of Texas artists who share a love of painting and have a unique
friendship.

The group formed after first meeting and painting together for many years at the Upstairs Gallery in
Arlington, Texas. They have traveled together and celebrated everything (even a clean studio)!
Their individual painting styles are as different as their signatures but they unite their painting voices to
produce dramatic works of art.

After several members of the group traveled to Santa Fe and were inspired by the vast panorama, they
returned with memories, and memory chips full of photos which the group has used in their collaborative
works of art. Each finished painting reflects the combined effort and style of nine of the members as
they create one large painting from their individual canvases. Who knows what creations they will come
up with in the future! Only time will tell.

Each artist is an independent and free thinker who may have a habit of taking charge out of turn. Most
can tackle any medium and any subject, or are willing to try. Held together by email and regular
meetings, in a loose association, they share a love of learning, discovery, excitement and the joy in
living, looking and observing.
